AIX Administrator

An exciting opportunity has become available with a large well-known organisation, join a fantastic team environment and utilise your skills in AIX Administration and IBM pSeries Hardware. The skills necessary to fulfil this role are as follows:

• Experience and skills in the administration of enterprise AIX 6
• Strong knowledge of IBM pSeries Hardware, specifically P6 or later
• Proven experience with the Hardware Management Console for pSeries
• A good understanding of LDAP and its use for authentication and authorisation
• Solid experience in AIX monitoring and performance tuning
• A good understanding of TCP/IP Networking and addressing
• Proven experience running Oracle Database on AIX, as a Systems Administrator (not as a DBA)

It would be to your benefit if you also have ITIL certification, experience with Netbackup, VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Java or PHP programming, Oracle 11g and/or IBM GPFS.

You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills, the ability to work in a team or unsupervised and complete tasks on time.
