VoIP Support Engineer

Our client is a long established and well respected global brand in the VoIP technology sector.

Due to additional workload they require two experienced linux and VoIP Support Engineer to join an existing team in providing support at 2nd level.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Front line support resolving technical issues within a 24x7 follow the sun technical support environment.
  • Provide problem resolution assistance to level 2 support teams.
  • Provide solutions about VoIP software application platform.
  • Interface with customers, partners and technical teams within the company to determine reasons for system faults and to understand methods of restoration and resolution.

Required skills and Experience:

  • A good understanding of MS Windows XP and Vista.
  • A good understanding of Windows DLLs and the Outlook /IE plug in architecture.
  • Experience with client/server architecture.
  • Technical support trouble-shooting skills,including interpreting customer network infrastructure to understand tcp/ip traffic flows.
  • Telecommunications and IP networking background in tech support
  • VoIP systems experience with knowledge of some of the following protocols: SIP, MGCP, RTP, TLS, SMTP, SNMP, Security and encryption techniques.
  • Linux or Sun Solaris admin experience with exposure to some of the following: Apache, DNS, Tomcat, MySQL, Java, C++ and Perl.

  • Ability to work autonomously and without supervision both individually and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to the highest ethical business standards.
  • A valid Australian work visa - PR or citizenship only.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personable with ability to build professional relationships.

Other considerations:

  • Occasional international travel for training and company events.
