My client is a market-leader who have enjoyed a strong 2011 and have exciting plans for 2012 and beyond. Internal promotions (again!) mean that they are now looking to hire several Analyst's to join their Collections Analytical function. Working very closely with the business & engaging with senior executives on a daily basis this role offers Analysts with strong career ambitions to get far closer to the business coal-face than what is usually offered in a typical credit risk function.

I am looking for a range of level of applicants, from candidates with around 12m commercial experience as an  Analyst (Credit Risk Analyst, Data Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Modeller, Statistical Analyst etc)through to Senior Analyst's who can mentor and lead more Junior staff.

In terms of profile I am expecting applicants to have strong academic backgrounds, ideally in a numerate discipline (Maths, Stats, OR) although candidates with relevant work experience and a degree in another discipline will also be considered.

On a technical level candidates must have solid programming experience, ideally in SAS (Base SAS, SAS EG) although candidates with programming skills in SQL, VBA, R, SPSS etc will also be considered. The role will involve lots of data manipulation, extraction etc so candidates without programming skills will not be considered.

Working focused on collections (secured and unsecured) you will be involved in analysing large data sets, finding patterns and making recommendations to the business. You will use your data analysis skills, combined with your business knowledge to help shape and influence collections strategy, as you take your insights and enable the business to take positive action as a result. Because of this candidates need to have strong communication skills, need to be able to build strong relationships with business managers & see themselves as being able to support the business through their insights on an operational basis. The role wont have a strong model building element although modelling skills would be useful in terms of being able to segment customers etc.

There will be no regular reporting in this role, as an Analyst specialising in the Collections space you will be required to build reports as/when required but the running/operating of those will be the responsibilty of another team - this role is more about actionable insights, turning data into information and influencing strategy. With collections being a big issues for many lenders then this role is high profile, with an excellent range of project/pro-active type pieces of work as well as reactive work  so the environment is busy, exciting and stimulating.

Working with excellent peers and management you will be provided with excellent on-the job training, coaching and traditional classroom training. With a superb work life balance on offer, excellent remuneration & great career progression then this seriously is not to be missed.

Interested applicants should apply ASAP with an up to date CV (Word Format) or call Declan on 02 9223 0066 for a confidential discussion.
