A City Council located east of Melbourne's CBD are actively seeking a Principal Strategic Planner to join its Strategic Planning department on a contract basis. You will be well networked in the local market and be able to work within a politically charged environment. 
 
As a Principal Strategic Planner you will report directly to the Strategic Planning Coordinator but will be given the autonomy to run some interesting and complex regeneration urban projects. 

This is a significant role within its planning department and for the right candidate will challenge and fully utilise their skills and experiences as a planner from day one. 

You can expect to provide and prepare input into a number of strategic planning strategies including Structure Plans, Development Contribution Plans, Municipal Strategic Statement and Green Wedge Management plans.
  
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Planning and relevant experience in the local market. You will have a solid knowledge of the Victoria Planning Provisions and state, regional & local planning policies and acts.
You will also have several years’ experience in other Senior Strategic Planning roles within Government or the private sector so you can demonstrate the ability to hit the ground running.
